Since all roads lead to Rome, there are many healthcare providers who focus on addressing a medical issue. Osteopaths at the Andromeda Center for Osteopathy have been offering an approach that has been gaining popularity for over 25 years. They recognize that no two people are the same and that the human body is complex and full of challenges.
Following the principles of Dr. A.T. Still, the osteopaths at Andromeda search for the root cause of the main issue, rather than simply focusing on the location where the patient experiences symptoms. They place great value on understanding how the problem originated, when it began, and the specific stress factors involved. This allows the patient to actively participate in the healing process.
With this knowledge, the osteopath works in harmony with the body’s natural ability to heal. The gentle and targeted approach can bring about changes in the body, regardless of how long the complaint has existed. This often leads to positive outcomes, as experienced by patients and confirmed by their feedback.

Announcement of the retirement of Ton van der Heiden
After an incredible 45 years in healthcare—20 years as a physiotherapist and manual therapist, followed by 25 years as an osteopath—Ton van der Heiden has decided that the time has come to start a new chapter! Until June 1, 2025, he will continue to work one day per week.
Ton has designed his career with a unique research method, himself developed together with colleague osteopath Peter van Dommelen. This approach has brought both him and his patients a lot. The fascinating work and the warm contact with you as a patient are the most important motives for his persistent enthusiasm and energy. He has invested in you with a lot of passion, but has also received a lot from you – a valuable exchange that he will certainly miss. The time needed to transfer this knowledge to Marc has used Ton with great attention and love.
Marc took over the work from Arie Kroon more than four years ago, and Ton was happy to take care of him as a mentor. This was a great opportunity for Marc to further develop his skills as an osteopath, and for that he is very grateful to Ton. Thanks to Ton, Marc has studied osteopathy by following a targeted follow -up courses, studying professional literature and studying at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy in London.
The above words come from Marc’s pen. What he has forgotten to say is that Ton has continued to work longer than his retirement age, partly due to his retirement age. Marc’s enthusiasm, talent and perseverance have given him even more job satisfaction in recent years. Even now they spar every day about their patients, who are close to them. Of course they work for their families, but above all, the care for their patients is. And let no misunderstanding about it, this care is with Marc and his colleagues in more than excellent hands.

New locations
We are very happy to announce that Andromeda Centrum voor Osteopathie will open a new location in the center of Valkenswaard, in the charming building of Vivre Verloskundigenpraktijk, as of May 1st.
At this new location, we focus on osteopathy for babies, children and pregnant women. Of course, you can also come here for regular osteopathic treatments.
And that’s not all! We are busy preparing for a new location in Bergeijk, which we expect to open in mid-July.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new locations in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk, so that we can further expand our osteopathic care and help even more people.
The expansion in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk offers the opportunity to further intensify our collaboration with pelvic physiotherapist Tessy van Leeuwen-Hermans. Tessy will now also be active at our new locations! In addition to being a specialized pelvic physiotherapist (MSc.), Tessy is well advanced in her training as an osteopath. A unique and strong combination within the gynaecological domain. This strengthens our collaboration!
