Between the establishment of the 1st university for osteopathy in Kirksville, USA, in 1892 and Between the founding of the first university of osteopathy in Kirksville, USA, in 1892 and the inception of Andromeda Centrum voor Osteopathie in Veldhoven in 2004, lie 112 years and a world of development. This entire evolution is fully attributable to the desire of every osteopath to understand every person who calls upon them, and to use this knowledge to help the patient as quickly and effectively as possible. This knowledge begins with asking questions and addressing doubts, in order to then apply the acquired knowledge and experience to the next patient and share it with colleagues.
Ton van der Heiden started as the first osteopath at ACO in 2001. Four years later, Arie Kroon joined him. This partnership lasted until 2020, the year Marc van Leeuwen took Arie’s place, and at the end of 2024, Sten Bierens joined them.
They share the same vision, shaped by continuous professional development in the Netherlands and abroad, daily consultations, and a great deal of passion for their work. The latter is evident, for example, in their podcast Osteo Talkings, in which Marc and Ton discuss their cases.
In short, osteopaths Ton van der Heiden, Marc van Leeuwen, and Sten Bierens do not claim to have all the answers, but they do wish to emphasize that, through 24 years of educational and fruitful work, they have become established experts in their field.
