Why Osteopathy?

Because there are many paths that lead to recovery, different healthcare professionals focus on treating medical complaints in different ways. At Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy, we have been offering an approach that continues to grow in popularity for more than 25 years. We recognise that no two people are the same, and that the human body is complex and full of challenges.

Following the principles of Dr. A.T. Still, founder of osteopathy, we focus on finding the underlying cause of the problem rather than simply treating the area where symptoms are experienced. In other words, we look for the root cause, not only the symptom itself. Great importance is placed on understanding how and when the problem developed, as well as identifying the specific stress factors involved. This allows patients to actively participate in their own recovery process.

With this knowledge, the osteopath works together with the body’s natural ability to recover. This gentle yet focused approach can bring about meaningful changes in the body, regardless of how long a complaint has existed. Patients frequently experience positive results, confirmed through their feedback and experiences.

Andromeda continues to grow: new location in Bergeijk from May 2026

Following our successful expansion to Valkenswaard last year, we are taking another exciting step in our growth. We are proud to announce that Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy will also open a new location in Bergeijk from May 2026.

A valuable expansion in Valkenswaard

Last year, we opened our location in Valkenswaard, where we are pleased to collaborate with Vivre Midwifery Practice and FLUX Pelvic Physiotherapy. This expansion has further strengthened our care in the region and forms a valuable addition to our services. At this location, we focus particularly on babies, children and pregnant women, while also welcoming clients with a wide range of physical complaints.

Nothing changes for you

With the opening of our new location in Bergeijk, we are making osteopathic care in the Kempen region even more accessible. Together with our locations in Veldhoven and Valkenswaard, we will soon be even easier to reach for clients from the surrounding area and beyond. Across all of our locations, we believe it is important that clients feel welcome in an environment that reflects professionalism, calmness and comfort. That is why we consciously choose a warm and refined interior with high-end amenities, creating a familiar atmosphere that contributes to a pleasant treatment experience. At our Bergeijk location, all-round osteopath Marc is available for consultations. Babies, children, adults and (elite) athletes are welcome here for expert osteopathic care, tailored to their individual needs and concerns.

Practical information

The practice is located at Meienshovel 9 in Bergeijk, in a quiet side street. Arriving by car? Parking spaces are available in the street, with ample parking nearby. From there, it is approximately a 50-metre walk to the practice. Upon arrival, you may take a seat directly in the waiting area.

New developments: FLUX Vitaal

We are proud to announce that Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy and FLUX Pelvic Physiotherapy (formerly Praktijk voor Bekkenfysiotherapie Tessy van Leeuwen-Hermans) joined forces on June 1st in a new partnership: FLUX Vitaal.

FLUX Vitaal is the result of a strong collaboration between our two practices. The name FLUX represents flow and movement — symbols of change, growth and continuous development. Exactly what we stand for as healthcare professionals and as people.

The body is constantly in motion and continuously adapting. That same sense of movement is reflected in our professional development and shared vision on recovery, progress and vitality.

Nothing changes for you

  • Osteopathy remains familiar and trusted at Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy.
  • For pelvic physiotherapy, FLUX remains the place to go. Want to know more? Discover our renewed collaboration at: www.flux-vitaal.nl

Announcement of Ton van der Heiden’s retirement

After an impressive 45 years in healthcare — first 20 years as a physiotherapist and manual therapist, followed by 25 years as an osteopath — Ton van der Heiden has decided that the time has come to begin a new chapter. Ton retired on June 1st, 2025.

Throughout his career, Ton developed a unique examination method together with fellow osteopath Peter van Dommelen. This approach has brought tremendous value to both him and his patients. The fascinating nature of the work and the warm connection with patients have always been the driving force behind his enduring enthusiasm and energy. He invested deeply in his patients, while receiving just as much in return — a meaningful exchange he will certainly miss. Ton dedicated a great deal of care and attention to transferring his knowledge to Marc.

Marc took over the work of Arie Kroon more than four years ago, and Ton has enthusiastically guided him as a mentor ever since. This gave Marc a wonderful opportunity to further develop his skills as an osteopath, for which he remains deeply grateful. Thanks to Ton, Marc immersed himself further in osteopathy by attending specialised courses, studying professional literature and completing studies at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy in London.

The words above were written by Marc. What he forgot to mention is that Ton continued working beyond retirement age partly because of him. Marc’s enthusiasm, talent and perseverance brought Ton even more joy in his work over recent years. Even today, they still discuss their patients together daily — patients who are close to their hearts. Of course they work for their families, but above all, patient care remains their highest priority. And without question, that care is in more than excellent hands with Marc and Sten.

New locations

We are delighted to announce that Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy opened a new location in the centre of Valkenswaard on May 1st, located within the welcoming practice of Vivre Midwifery.

At this new location, we focus on osteopathy for babies, children and pregnant women. Of course, you are also welcome here for regular osteopathic treatments.

And there is more to come. We are currently preparing a new location in Bergeijk, which we expect to open around mid-July.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new locations in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk, allowing us to further expand our osteopathic care and help even more people.

The expansion in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk also offers the opportunity to strengthen our collaboration with pelvic physiotherapist Tessy van Leeuwen-Hermans even further. In addition to Eersel, Tessy will now also be active at our new locations. Alongside being a specialised pelvic physiotherapist (MSc.), Tessy is also far advanced in her osteopathy training — a unique and valuable combination within the gynaecological field. This further strengthens our collaboration.
