Why osteopathy?

Because there are many paths that lead to recovery, different healthcare professionals focus on treating medical complaints in different ways. At Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy, we have been offering an approach that continues to grow in popularity for more than 25 years. We recognise that no two people are the same, and that the human body is complex and full of challenges.

Following the principles of Dr. A.T. Still, founder of osteopathy, we focus on finding the underlying cause of the problem rather than simply treating the area where symptoms are experienced. In other words, we look for the root cause, not only the symptom itself. Great importance is placed on understanding how and when the problem developed, as well as identifying the specific stress factors involved. This allows patients to actively participate in their own recovery process.

With this knowledge, the osteopath works in harmony with the body’s natural ability to heal. The gentle and targeted approach can bring about changes in the body, regardless of how long the complaint has existed. This often leads to positive outcomes, as experienced by patients and confirmed by their feedback.

Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy Acquires the Practice of Bas van Berge Henegouwen

We are proud and delighted to announce that, as of 1 November, Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy will take over the osteopathy practice of Bas van Berge Henegouwen.

After a long and dedicated career as an osteopath, Bas will soon be enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Over many years, he has built a thriving practice at Centre for Movement and Therapy De Nieuwe Velden in Valkenswaard. Through his expertise, personal approach, and genuine care for his patients, he has established a practice that has become a trusted destination for many.

We are honoured that Bas has entrusted us with the continuation of his practice. For his patients, this means they will continue to receive osteopathic care at the familiar location within Centre for Movement and Therapy De Nieuwe Velden. They can expect the same personal attention, high quality of care, and thoughtful approach they have always experienced.

At this location, osteopaths Marc van Leeuwen and Jonne Weekers, who will be joining our team from 1 October, will be providing patient care.

For Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy, this acquisition marks an important step in the continued development of our practice. In addition to our existing location within Vivre Midwifery Practice, we will have a second location in Valkenswaard from 1 November onwards. The practice is situated in the modern premises of Centre for Movement and Therapy De Nieuwe Velden, an environment that perfectly reflects the warm and professional atmosphere of our Veldhoven location. This expansion strengthens our presence in Valkenswaard and enables us to further ensure the continuity of care for both existing and new patients.

We are very much looking forward to working alongside the various healthcare professionals at Centre for Movement and Therapy De Nieuwe Velden. We believe that the close collaboration and multidisciplinary approach will contribute to providing the best possible care and guidance for our patients.

We would also like to express our sincere gratitude to Bas for the trust he has placed in us. We look forward to continuing his practice from 1 November with the same level of care, personal attention, and dedication.

Andromeda continues to grow: new location in Bergeijk from May 2026

Following our successful expansion to Valkenswaard last year, we are taking another exciting step in our growth. We are proud to announce that Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy will also open a new location in Bergeijk from May 2026.

A valuable expansion in Valkenswaard

Last year, we opened our location in Valkenswaard, where we are pleased to collaborate with Vivre Midwifery Practice and FLUX Pelvic Physiotherapy. This expansion has further strengthened our care in the region and forms a valuable addition to our services. At this location, we focus particularly on babies, children and pregnant women, while also welcoming clients with a wide range of physical complaints.

Nothing changes for you

With the opening of our new location in Bergeijk, we are making osteopathic care in the Kempen region even more accessible. Together with our locations in Veldhoven and Valkenswaard, we will soon be even easier to reach for clients from the surrounding area and beyond. Across all of our locations, we believe it is important that clients feel welcome in an environment that reflects professionalism, calmness and comfort. That is why we consciously choose a warm and refined interior with high-end amenities, creating a familiar atmosphere that contributes to a pleasant treatment experience. At our Bergeijk location, all-round osteopath Marc is available for consultations. Babies, children, adults and (elite) athletes are welcome here for expert osteopathic care, tailored to their individual needs and concerns.

Practical information

The practice is located at Meienshovel 9 in Bergeijk, in a quiet side street. Arriving by car? Parking spaces are available in the street, with ample parking nearby. From there, it is approximately a 50-metre walk to the practice. Upon arrival, you may take a seat directly in the waiting area.

New Developments: FLUX Vitaal

We are proud to announce that, as of June 1st, Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy and FLUX Pelvic Physiotherapy (formerly known as Pelvic Physiotherapy Practice Tessy van Leeuwen-Hermans) are joining forces in a new partnership: FLUX Vital.

FLUX Vital is the result of a strong collaboration between our two practices. The name FLUX represents flow and movement — symbols of change, growth, and continuous development. Exactly what we stand for, both as healthcare providers and as individuals.

The body is constantly in motion, continuously adapting. This dynamic nature is also reflected in our professional growth and shared vision on healing, progress, and vitality.

Nothing will change for you:

  • Osteopathy remains the trusted care you know at Andromeda Centre for Osteopathy.
  • FLUX remains the place to go for pelvic physiotherapy.

Announcement of the retirement of Ton van der Heiden

After an impressive 45 years in healthcare — 20 years as a physiotherapist-manual therapist and 25 years as an osteopath — Ton van der Heiden has announced that the time has come to begin a new chapter! As of June 1st, 2025, Ton has officially retired.

Ton has designed his career with a unique research method, himself developed together with colleague osteopath Peter van Dommelen. This approach has brought both him and his patients a lot. The fascinating work and the warm contact with you as a patient are the most important motives for his persistent enthusiasm and energy. He has invested in you with a lot of passion, but has also received a lot from you – a valuable exchange that he will certainly miss. The time needed to transfer this knowledge to Marc has used Ton with great attention and love.

Marc took over the work from Arie Kroon more than four years ago, and Ton was happy to take care of him as a mentor. This was a great opportunity for Marc to further develop his skills as an osteopath, and for that he is very grateful to Ton. Thanks to Ton, Marc has studied osteopathy by following a targeted follow -up courses, studying professional literature and studying at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy in London.

The words above were written by Marc. What he forgot to mention is that Ton continued working beyond retirement age partly because of him. Marc’s enthusiasm, talent and perseverance brought Ton even more joy in his work over recent years. Even today, they still discuss their patients together daily — patients who are close to their hearts. Of course they work for their families, but above all, patient care remains their highest priority. And without question, that care is in more than excellent hands with Marc and Sten.

New locations

We are very happy to announce that Andromeda Centrum voor Osteopathie will open a new location in the center of Valkenswaard, in the charming building of Vivre Verloskundigenpraktijk, as of May 1st.

At this new location, we focus on osteopathy for babies, children and pregnant women. Of course, you can also come here for regular osteopathic treatments.

And that’s not all! We are busy preparing for a new location in Bergeijk, which we expect to open in mid-July.

We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new locations in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk, so that we can further expand our osteopathic care and help even more people.

The expansion in Valkenswaard and Bergeijk offers the opportunity to further intensify our collaboration with pelvic physiotherapist Tessy van Leeuwen-Hermans. Tessy will now also be active at our new locations! In addition to being a specialized pelvic physiotherapist (MSc.), Tessy is well advanced in her training as an osteopath. A unique and strong combination within the gynaecological domain. This strengthens our collaboration!
