Nevertheless, this three-week-old baby had shown a clear favored head position to the right since birth.

Initially, the medical history also revealed no irregularities.

During my examination, I particularly noticed increased tension at the level of the diaphragm, the connective tissue behind the breastbone, and at the level of the upper ribs.

This led me to ask the mother to specifically reflect on the pregnancy once more. Had there perhaps been a period of significant tension, a fright, or an event that literally took her breath away?

After a moment’s thought, she remembered a car accident around the twentieth week of pregnancy. She had, of course, been enormously shaken and particularly anxious, as she temporarily felt the baby move less afterward. Fortunately, everything turned out to be fine in the end.

Can we say with certainty that this event was the cause of what I felt during my examination? No. But it is a connection that I find interesting to consider and one that, based on my clinical experience, is easily explained.

Is it important to make these kinds of connections? Perhaps not always essential. Yet, I notice in practice that relevant events are not always mentioned spontaneously during an initial medical history. Not because people no longer remember them, but because they do not see the relationship with the complaint themselves at that moment.

For me, that is valuable information. It helps me better understand why the body might be reacting in a certain way. But I also notice that it often provides reassurance to people when you can explain findings and establish possible connections. In this case, it gave the mother more insight into what might be happening with her baby.

The reaction after the first treatment was clear. During the first few days, there was temporary increased reflux and clear restlessness. In the following weeks, the favored head position gradually diminished.

During the second and final consultation, the favored head position was only minimally present. We then focused primarily on the remaining tension in the connective tissue around the breastbone and the upper ribs.

A beautiful case with a clear and rapid result.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” column_margin=”default” column_direction=”default” column_direction_tablet=”default” column_direction_phone=”default” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” row_border_radius=”none” row_border_radius_applies=”bg” row_position_desktop=”default” row_position_tablet=”inherit” row_position_phone=”inherit” overflow=”visible” overlay_strength=”0.3″ gradient_direction=”left_to_right” shape_divider_position=”bottom” bg_image_animation=”none”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_tablet=”inherit” column_padding_phone=”inherit” column_padding_position=”all” flex_gap_desktop=”10px” column_element_direction_desktop=”default” column_element_spacing=”default” desktop_text_alignment=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default”…

[18

post-3942","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-publicaties-en
["GET
