The complaints can arise suddenly during a certain movement. Additionally, hip complaints can develop gradually due to overuse, wear and tear, or long-term strain on the body. However, complaints never arise without reason, and often a situation precedes them that reduces the local load-bearing capacity of the affected region.<\/p>\n<p>The hip forms an important hinge point between the upper body and the leg. Consider, for example, wear and tear of the hip joint, inflammation, hip bursitis, irritation of muscles or tendons, an injury, or a limitation in mobility. <\/p>\n<p>Additionally, conditions of the pelvis, lower back, or knee can cause extra strain on the hip. This sometimes results in pain while the actual cause is located elsewhere. Our experience is that there is often an explanation for why complaints arise. For example, a significant fall in the past or emotional trauma can influence the development of complaints. In practice, we often see a relationship with the spine, the sacrum, and the diaphragm. But the central nervous system or the organs and their surrounding connective tissue can also influence the onset of complaints.    <\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>The cause is not always at the site of the complaint<\/b><\/h3>\n<p>Within osteopathy, we view the body as a single whole. A limitation in the lower back, the pelvis, the abdominal region, or even higher in the body can influence the function of the hip. <\/p>\n<p>As a result, the cause of the complaint is rarely located at the spot where you experience the pain.
