Denk hierbij aan kniepijn, stijfheid, zwelling, bewegingsbeperkingen of een onzeker gevoel tijdens het lopen. De knie is een complex gewricht dat dagelijks grote krachten moet opvangen tijdens beweging.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Omdat de knie voortdurend wordt belast, kunnen verschillende structuren betrokken zijn bij het ontstaan van klachten. Zo kunnen de meniscus, knieschijf, banden, spieren, pezen of slijmbeurs een rol spelen. Sommige mensen ervaren alleen lichte hinder, terwijl anderen pijnvrij bewegen nauwelijks meer mogelijk vinden.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Hoe vaak komen&nbsp; knieklachten voor?<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span>Knieklachten behoren tot de meest voorkomende klachten van het bewegingsapparaat. Zowel jongeren als ouderen kunnen ermee te maken krijgen. Sporters lopen bijvoorbeeld meer risico op een blessure zoals een meniscus letsel, lopersknie of jumpers knee. Bij toenemende leeftijd zien we vaker knie artrose of slijtage ontstaan.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Daarnaast kunnen knieklachten ontstaan na een operatie, een verkeerde belasting of een eerdere klap op de knie. Vaak spelen meerdere factoren tegelijkertijd een rol. Daarom is het belangrijk om niet alleen naar de pijnlijke plek te kijken, maar naar het gehele lichaam.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><b>Lichamelijke oorzaken<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span>Verschillende lichamelijke factoren kunnen bijdragen aan knieklachten. Voorbeelden zijn:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Meniscus scheur of letsel<\/span><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><span>Slijtage van het kraakbeen<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Knieartrose<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Slijmbeursontsteking knie<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Ontsteking van pezen<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Springersknie<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Jumpers knee of springers knie<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Schade aan banden<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Problemen rondom de knieschijf (patellofemoraal pijnsyndroom of patellofemorale pijnklachten<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span>Soms wordt aanvullend onderzoek uitgevoerd door een arts of huisarts. In bepaalde gevallen kan een r\u00f6ntgenfoto meer informatie geven over de conditie van het gewricht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><b>De oorzaak zit niet altijd op de plek van de klacht<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span>Binnen de osteopathie kijken we naar de samenhang van het lichaam. Knie klachten worden daarom niet alleen lokaal onderzocht.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Een beperking in de enkel kan bijvoorbeeld invloed hebben op het been en de knie. Ook verminderde beweeglijkheid van het bekken, de heup of de onderrug kan een gevolg hebben voor de belasting van het kniegewricht. Maar ook invloeden vanuit het zenuwstelsel, middenrif, organen en de wervelkolom zijn van invloed op het ontstaan van knieklachten.
