Marc van Leeuwen graduated from the International Academy of Osteopathy (I.A.O.)<\/a><\/span> and obtained his Master of Science in Osteopathic Medicine (MSc. Ost. Med.) in 2020 at Buckinghamshire New University<\/a> in England. Prior to this, he worked for over ten years as a Master Manual Therapist and Sports Physiotherapist (MSc). This background forms a valuable addition to his current osteopathic approach. He combines his knowledge of the musculoskeletal system and sports-related injuries with a broader osteopathic perspective, with a particular focus on long-term and recurring sports complaints. <\/p>\n

In 2022, Marc completed the two-year specialization Osteopathy for Children<\/a>. During this program, he deepened his knowledge and insight into the examination and treatment of babies and children. <\/p>\n

The lessons of the highly experienced and passionate osteopath Ren\u00e9 Zweedijk have been a major influence in this. Marc now also assists him in teaching about the central nervous system and neuro-endocrine immunology within osteopathy. Since 2023, Marc has been a lecturer at PRO Osteo<\/a>, where he teaches within the Osteopathy for Children program. <\/p>\n

Additionally, Marc studied at the Sutherland Cranial College of Osteopathy (SCCO)<\/a> in England, where he further specialized in both general and pediatric osteopathy.<\/p>\n

Above all, the collaboration with osteopath Ton van der Heiden, who remains an important mentor for Marc, is particularly valuable. Marc has now fully integrated the examination method developed by Ton into his own way of working, in which curiosity, precision, and craftsmanship are central. <\/p>\n

Marc is an all-round osteopath and treats babies, children, and adults with a wide range of complaints. His patients include both recreational and professional athletes. <\/p>\n

What fascinates him most within osteopathy is the connection between different tissues and body systems. The body functions as a single unit, in which structures and systems constantly influence each other. <\/p>\n

This interconnectedness forms the basis of his osteopathic approach. He does not only look at the area where a complaint is experienced, but primarily investigates which underlying factors may play a role. He has a special interest in complex, long-term, and recurring complaints. <\/p>\n

Sten has been associated with Andromeda Center for Osteopathy since 2024. In that same year, he completed his studies at the International Academy of Osteopathy (I.A.O.)<\/a> and earned his Master of Science at Bucks New University (UK). Before that, he worked as a physiotherapist for seven years. During this period, he discovered that some complaints remained persistent and difficult to explain. His curiosity and the need for a broader view of health led him to osteopathy. The holistic approach to the human being, with a focus on supporting the body’s self-healing capacity, brought him the knowledge and skills he was looking for. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As an osteopath, Sten looks beyond the complaint alone. He searches for possible disruptions and interconnections in the body that may contribute to the development or maintenance of complaints. He likes to actively involve his patients in the treatment process by providing insight into the origin of their complaints. His friendly, calm, and analytical approach ensures that you, as a patient, feel heard and understood. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sten continues to develop within his profession. He is currently following a specialization in osteopathy for babies and children. A logical next step, given his experience and interest in this target group. He has also fully woven the research method, developed by osteopath and former colleague Ton van der Heiden, into his approach. This makes his treatments both personal and effective, for both acute and chronic complaints. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He also continues to develop within his profession. Recently, he started the two-year specialization \u2018Osteopathy for Babies and Children\u2019 at PRO Osteo. A great next step with which he deepens his knowledge and further specializes in the treatment of babies and children. <\/p>\n
